What's Latest at Disney?

Updated: Sep 30, 2022

Hurricane Ian closures Like the rest of the state, Walt Disney World prepared for the coming of Hurricane Ivan. This included the closings of all four theme parks, the water parks, and Disney Springs on Wednesday, September 28th. Guests at Fort Wilderness, in the Polynesian Bungalows, Saratoga Springs Treehouses, and the Copper Creek Cabins were moved into the hotels with the other guests staying on property. Cast members helped guests at the hotels by handing out food/emergency gear packages and helping to assure the guests that they were safe. Disney has announced that they plan to open through a phased approach on Friday September 30th.

Starting in January 2023, Disney After Hours Events return to Walt Disney World. The first events will be at Hollywood Studios on January 4th and Magic Kingdom on January 9th.

For those of you who are not familiar with these events, the After-Hour Events are separately ticketed events that allow guests to enjoy an extra three hours after the parks close to day guests. Tickets include early entry to the park at 7 pm, as well as include popcorn, beverages, and ice cream. (Yay Mickey Bars!)

Tickets for After Hours can be purchased from one of our agents as early as October 4th for guests who are staying in one of Disney’s resorts, or October 7th if not.
