Updates on Upcoming Resort Refurbishments to Walt Disney World Hotels
To continually enhance the guest experience, Walt Disney World periodically updates its offerings. Recently, they announced three upcoming refurbishment updates for their resort hotels:
Disney's Wilderness Lodge:
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo refurbishment from mid-May 2025 to September 2025. All resort amenities will stay available, but guests might notice refurbishment work during daytime hours.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort — Riverside:
Guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will be refurbished from early April 2025 through the end of January 2026. Guests may observe or hear construction work in the area during this time.
Disney's Pop Century Resort:
Guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment from late March 2025 to mid-February 2026. While all resort amenities will remain available, guests might notice construction during daytime hours.
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort
Holidays are back from Nov. 15, 2024, to Jan. 6, 2025, featuring festive entertainment like character sightings, nighttime spectaculars, and live bands. Here's a guide to the must-see events across both theme parks, Downtown Disney District, and the hotels.
Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park:
New Performances:
- “Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season”: A musical presentation featuring Mirabel and friends from "Encanto," celebrating the holidays with music from the film. Available Monday to Friday outside Paradise Gardens Park.
- “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!”: An evening show on Buena Vista Street with mariachi performances and an appearance by Miguel from "Coco."
Expanded Musical Acts:
Enjoy daily high-energy performances from new and returning bands across various stages, with genres like mariachi, jazz, and Latin pop.
“Mickey’s Happy Holidays” and Holiday Toy Drummers:
A daily parade featuring iconic Disney characters and the Holiday Toy Drummers.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party:
Hosted on Saturdays and Sundays by The Three Caballeros, this event features lively dancing and music.
Santa Claus and Character Encounters:
- “Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends” at Fantasyland Theatre:
Meet Santa Claus and Disney characters for photos, crafts, and sing-alongs daily at Disneyland Park.
- Meet Santa Claus:
Available daily across Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and the Hotels of Disneyland Resort until Dec. 24. Santa Goofy appears from Dec. 25 to Jan. 6.
Special Character Appearances:
Catch characters in festive attire across the Disneyland Resort, including themed dining at Goofy’s Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe.
Holiday Entertainment Highlights:
- “Disney Holiday Dance Party” at Tomorrowland Terrace:
Dance with Disney characters every night from Nov. 16 to Jan. 6.
- “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” features Disney characters and a Santa Claus finale daily at Disneyland Park.
- Nighttime Shows and Snowfall:
- “Believe...In Holiday Magic” Fireworks Spectacular at Disneyland Park.
- “World of Color – Season of Light” at Disney California Adventure Park. Secure access with a virtual queue.
Holiday Lighting Moments:
Witness nightly tree lighting at Buena Vista Street and enjoy light projection shows at "it’s a small world" Holiday at Disneyland Park.
