Grateful for Disney Cast Members

During this month of gratitude and Thanksgiving, our agency is thankful for the Cast Members at Walt Disney World who helped during not one but two hurricanes over the last few months. Their efforts to help guests started days before the hurricanes hit landfall, as they worked diligently to prepare and stock the parks and resorts. This consisted of jobs such as locking down outdoor items, preparing meal kits, bringing the animals around the property to safer locations and helping to move guests in danger areas such as Fort Wilderness Campground to more secure rooms.

However, these amazing Cast Members didn’t stop once the Hurricanes hit, several thousand stayed on property for the two days that the weather raged outside. Some of these Cast Members could be seen by guests in the resorts as they set up dance parties, trivia contests, and movies, pop up character meets or handed out the more than 40,000 meal kits that they had prepared to guests. All with the intention to keep guests happy, hopeful, and safe.

Behind the scenes, other Cast Members who stayed worked in operations to make sure things continued to run smoothly as well as ride out the storm with the furry residents of Walt Disney World. Cast Members stayed at over a dozen locations around property to ensure the safety and health of the animals such as the horses at Tri-Circle-D Ranch and Animal Kingdom. Like their human counterparts, the animals needed food stocked up and safe locations to stay.

Thanks to all the hard work of these Cast Members, guests and animal residents made it through the hurricanes no worse for wear, and operations returned to normal shortly after the hurricane passed. Disney Cast Members have always been an outstanding group and their actions throughout these storms highlight them even more.
