Disney Cruise Line celebrating big anniversary

This summer, on all five ships, Disney Cruise Line will celebrate 25 years at sea with a Silver anniversary at sea. For this special anniversary, Disney will celebrate by featuring several magical events on board.


Captain Minnie Mouse and Captain Mickey Mouse will don dazzling new ensembles to mark the occasion.

Disney Cruise Line will debut a signature song to serve as the soundtrack of the celebration, tunefully threading nostalgic memories of vacations past with the of anticipation of new family adventures to come.

New family entertainment and activities will culminate in shimmering evening experiences created only for the anniversary celebration.

Throughout their voyage, guests will discover themed culinary creations, from fanciful desserts to inspired craft cocktails and beyond.

Guests can commemorate Disney Cruise Line’s “Silver Anniversary at Sea” with a new line of merchandise. The Shimmering Seas Collection, a line of dedicated merchandise featuring a new signature color and include an assortment of apparel, accessories, drinkware, keepsakes and more.


As part of the celebration, Disney is also launching a new membership tier for returning Disney Cruise Line guests. The new tier will honor the 25 years at sea by introducing the new Pearl tier for guests who have cruised on over 25 Disney cruises. The exclusive benefits for this tier will be announced in 2023.


‘New’ parade returning to Disneyland

In 2020, Disneyland debuted a new parade “Magic Happens” for a short time before the park closed in March. Now “Magic Happens” is returning to Disneyland on February 24, 2023. Mickey leads the way on his float before Moana, Miguel, and the Frozen characters come out to say hi to guests. The parade’s grand finale commemorates memorable moments from Disney classics in an incredible procession that’s not to be missed!


Date released for closing of Splash Mountain

This week Disney announced that Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World will take its last plunge in its current state on January 22, 2023. On January 23, Disney will begin its overhaul of the ride to revamp it to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which will open in 2024. Information on when Disneyland’s Splash Mountain will be revamped will be announced at a later date.


Disney on Broadway Lineup Announced

The concert series for Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts has been announced, with three shows per night.

Jan. 13, 15, 16, 19, 20–Kara Lindsay (“Newsies”) & Kevin Massey (“Tarzan”)

Jan. 14, 17, 18, 21, 22 – Arielle Jacobs (“Aladdin”) & Adam Jacobs (“Aladdin”)

Jan. 23, 25, 26, 29, 30, Feb. 2, 3 – Patti Murin (“Frozen”) & Robert Creighton (“Frozen”)

Jan. 24, 27, 28, 31, Feb. 1, 4, 5–Mandy Gonzalez (“AIDA”) & L. Steven Taylor (“The Lion King”)

Feb. 7, 10, 11, 14, 15, 18, 19–Kissy Simmons (“The Lion King”) & Josh Strickland (“Tarzan”)

Feb. 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16, 17–Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”) & Michael James Scott (“Aladdin”)
