Agent Spotlight: Sara

This is our first in our Agent Spotlight series where you get to learn a little more about each of our agents!

Introduce yourself!

Hi! I’m Sara and I’m a travel agent here at Carry on the Magic! I’m new to being a travel agent but I am absolutely loving it so far. I also do the marketing for Carry on the Magic which has been such a thrill! I always have a lot of plates in the air and I like to think I do a good job of keeping most of them aloft (just don’t mind the dust on my mopboards).

I grew up in the 90s, which means I was raised on all the great Disney movies. My husband got me obsessed with Star Wars (much to his delight) shortly after we met in high school and our obsession has just grown from there. We have two young kids together who, thankfully, share our love of all things Disney and Star Wars.

Favorite Travel Destination(s):

Well, I visited Walt Disney World for the first time in 2017 and instantly became obsessed…we’ve been almost a dozen times since that first visit – and that’s with the pandemic and a pregnancy preventing us from going for a while there, ha!

I’ve been to Universal Studios a couple times but we’ll probably wait until the kids are old enough to ride all of the rollercoasters since there are so many thrill rides there.

The other place I can’t wait to get back to is Hawaii…it’s absolutely gorgeous!

What makes you a great travel agent?

I am very much a Type A person which makes travel agency life a great fit for me! I’m very organized so I’ll never miss a deadline and I’m competitive so I will make sure that my clients get the best price possible. It’s like a game that I need to win!

But probably my favorite part of being a travel agent is helping others plan their perfect vacation. As my husband will attest, I usually get pretty sad about a week before we go to Disney because all of the planning is over which means that soon the trip will be over. Planning the vacation is at least half of the fun of the trip for me, truly. So being able to plan trips for other people and share in their excitement means that I (hopefully) don’t have to get the pre-trip blues anymore.

Who is your ideal client?

My primary clientele is just like me and my family: Millennial (we just love that term, don’t we?) families that want to go on magical adventures! It’s what I relate to so I can provide lots of tips and tricks that I’ve picked up along the way. I love to work with families that have never been to Disney before…or maybe it’s been awhile, and give them the lay of the land. I also take a LOT of pride in knowing my clients well enough to suggest the rides and entertainment and food that they’ll enjoy the most!

And now that Disney is opening up the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in March 2022, I've learned everything I possibly can so I can help fellow Star Wars fans book their ultimate vacation!
